BIMBLETON TENNIS CLUB TO HOST ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

The Bimbleton Tennis Club is set to host its annual fundraising event this week as the Champion’s Tournament gets underway.

The fundraiser is one of the club’s regular public events to raise funds in support of the national league. It’s an opportunity for tennis fans to meet and mingle with players in an informal way, and tickets are highly sought after.

“I go every year,” said longtime tennis fan Julie Orwell. “I love my tennis, and I follow the tour like crazy. I love meeting the players and talking tennis with them.”

The Bimbleton Tennis Club has a long and prestigious history and is considered the home of tennis. The facility is used each year by the international tour to host one of the major tournaments.

The club is taking a different approach to the campaign this year — choosing to focus on impact goals instead of financial ones. According to Bimbleton Champion’s Tournament Director Oliver Walsh, it’s more meaningful to the donors.

“If you give $100 on the night, it’s challenging to understand what that really gives to the club,” said Mr. Walsh. “So instead you’ll be able to “buy” 50 practice balls for the club for that $100. It gives people a way to see the good their donation does in a real and tangible way.”

There are still a limited number of tickets available to the event, which will be attended by the top 10 players on the National tour. You can also make a direct donation to the club if you’re unable to attend the event but want to contribute. Contact the Bimbleton Tennis Club for full details.
