All Florence ever wanted was a child of her own and when it wasn’t happening, she and Ronald decided to adopt. She tried hard to be a good mother to Monica, in fact, many would say she tried too hard.

Ronald heads up one of the departments in the family business. He didn’t really bond with Monica when she was younger but they did develop a reasonable relationship when she got older. Most of the family thinks he’s a bit dull and uninspiring. He wouldn’t be surprised if Joe passed him over in his will in favor of Monica.

If sunshine had a face, it would be Betty’s. She’s the most positive person in the world and loves jumping into any fun conversation she hears. She’s the backup singer in Monica’s band and also working towards a psychology degree. She manages to squeeze in some classes online while the band is touring.

Helen is a relief teacher at a nearby college. She has little ambition for herself but a lot for her daughter Jessica. She feels Joe has been a little too obvious with his favoritism of Monica over the years and often stands up to him on Jessica or Oliver’s behalf.

Jessica works in the family business and is extremely ambitious. It’s no secret that she and Monica never got along, mainly because Jessica was jealous of Monica’s relationship with Joe. Jessica thinks Monica should never be involved in the family business since she’s not even a “real” Cooper.

Roy has been the primary physician for the Cooper family for many years and knows all of them very well.

Kevin comes across as a bit gruff and grumpy, mainly because he is. He and Monica had different ideas about the future of the band and this was starting to cause some friction.
